The Niton XLp XRF Analyzer

The Niton XLp XRF Analyzers offer the user a choice of radioisotope sources including the Cd-109 – the preferred source for lead paint inspections due to its ability to measure buried layers of leaded paint. Also available is our patented Infiniton™ (Am-241) radioisotope – used extensively in the majority of alloy analyzers throughout Canada.

Radioisotopes are easily licensed, and provide companies with multiple operators greatly reduced registration costs as compared to x-ray tubes.

The XL3p XRF Analyzer combines our patented Infiniton™ radioisotope source with advanced electronics and materials technology providing a rugged and reliable handheld instrument for the demanding applications such as metal recycling markets, PMI in petrochemical and service industries, and QA/QC for the manufacturing and fabrication industries. These features result in faster and lower priced government required registration for radiation based instruments, an easy-to-use interface, and an integrated tilting colour touch screen. Infiniton based analyzers form the majority of all handheld alloy analyzers used in Canada today.

The XL3t handheld XRF analyzer combines an industry leading 50kV x-ray tube system, low detection limits, an easy-to-use interface with our integrated tilting colour touch screen display. The XL3t offers a wide range of unique options which greatly extend the capabilities of our system.

The Niton XL3t XRF Analyzer with GOLDD™ Technology

The XL3t with GOLDD™ (Geometric Advantage, Optimized Excitation, and a Large Drift Detector) technology combines all of our advancements in such areas as electronics, ease-of-use, x-ray tube technology with one of the largest area SDD’s (Silicon Drift Detector) commercially available. SDD provide increased count rates but need to be combined with higher energy kV x-ray tubes, closely matched tube-sample-detector geometry, and advanced calibration algorithms to provide higher accuracy results. The GOLDD™ detector also provides Light Element detection for such elements as Mg, Al, Si, P and S, without the need of helium or vacuum assistance. The GOLDD™ systems are also available with the CCD camera and Small Spot focused beam options.
